College major choice is highly influenced by previous course exposure. So what does this say about children with little to no access to STEM coursework before they reach that point? About 90% of districts serving primarily Black and Latinx students find it challenging to offer sustainable STEM coursework. What does that mean for these students and their continued low representation in STEM positions? How do we fix this problem?

Brain Seeds promises to bring the knowledge of STEM and STEM careers to those who really need it through engaging informational videos, in-person demonstrations, and summer programming. We believe that by balancing the playing field everyone can make a deeper, more positive impact on the world.
What We're Up To...
Environmental print, digital button prompts, and just overall exposure to text create curiosity around reading for children often way before entering preschool. Their brains are wound and ready to soak up everything they see and hear. Your task then, is to make sure the things they see and hear will enhance their language skills, which in turn will increase their chances of living a successful adult life.

Why Reading Before Five Should Be Your Drive!
Learning to read is an essential skill that opens up a world of knowledge and opportunities. It is the foundation for academic success and personal growth. Reading helps to develop language skills, increase vocabulary, and improve comprehension. It also provides entertainment, fosters creativity, and exposes individuals to different perspectives.
When it comes to teaching children how to read many parents like to leave it to the professionals, but parents should feel empowered to take advantage of their child's early learning years. It could seem a little intimidating, but it doesn't have to be, that's why we're here. Children are learning from the time they are born, so as long as parents are mindful of their child's surroundings they have already proved themselves to be amazing teachers.
As the world grows each day in technological advancement, reading will be crucial for success in the STEM professions that require the ability to analyze and interpret complex materials, including medicine, law, finance, technology, and education. If we want our children to be successful, we need to make sure they can read!
Donations are used to create, enhance, and provide free or discounted STEAM programming for children who are the least likely to be exposed to the concepts of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, & Math.
